BW30-400 is a DOW  Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis 8” Element, which can separate salts from water. This Membrane is produced with an automated fabrication process that ensures precision, consistency, and reliability.

BW30-400 is perfect for municipal and industrial water treatment systems that produce more than 10 GPM of permeate. It has higher rejection using less energy and resisting foulants in challenging waters. It is the best choice if you are dealing with controlled pre-treatment waters and seeking consistent, high performance, long element life, and increased productivity.

Advantages

  • Decades of proven performance

  • Delivers high quality permeate water

  • Offers the most effective cleaning performance, robustness and durability due to its widest cleaning pH range (1 – 13) tolerance and the support of Dow technical representatives high rejection gives good water quality

Operation Guidelines

Avoid any abrupt pressure or cross-flow variations on the spiral elements during start-up, shutdown, cleaning, or other sequences to prevent possible membrane damage. During start-up, a gradual change from a standstill to an operating state is recommended as follows:

  • Feed pressure should be increased gradually over a 30-60 second time frame.

  • Cross-flow velocity at the set operating point should be achieved gradually over 15-20 seconds.

  • Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation should be discarded.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the DOW BW30-400 (8040) RO membrane used for?
It's a brackish water reverse osmosis membrane element designed for municipal and industrial water treatment systems producing more than 10 GPM of permeate — commonly used for industrial demineralization, drinking water production, and water reuse applications.

Q2: What is the flow rate and rejection rate of the BW30-400 membrane?
It delivers a permeate flow rate of 1000 LPH with a stabilized salt rejection of 99.5%, and has an active surface area of 400 sq. ft.

Q3: What size housing does the BW30-400 (8040) membrane fit?
BW30-400 is an 8-inch diameter element (commonly referred to as "8040"), designed to fit standard 8" membrane housings.

Q4: What is the maximum operating temperature and pH range for this membrane?
Maximum operating temperature is 113°F (45°C), and it supports a continuous operation pH range of 2–11, with a wider cleaning pH tolerance of 1–13.

Q5: How long does the DOW BW30-400 membrane last, and is it under warranty?
Pearl Water offers a 1-year warranty on this membrane, along with a 10-day replacement window from the date of purchase in case of manufacturing defects.

Q6: How do I install or replace this membrane safely?
Avoid abrupt pressure or cross-flow changes during startup or shutdown. Feed pressure should ramp up gradually over 30–60 seconds, cross-flow velocity over 15–20 seconds, and the permeate from the first hour of operation should be discarded before regular use.

Q7: What is the price of the DOW BW30-400 8040 RO membrane?
It's priced at ?36,099 (exclusive of taxes) / ?42,597 (inclusive of taxes), with volume discounts available — 3% off on 2 units, 4% off on 3 units, and 5% off on 4 or more.

Q8: Can I buy this membrane on Amazon or Flipkart instead of the website?
Yes, Pearl Water Technologies' products including this membrane are also listed for purchase on Amazon and Flipkart, in addition to direct ordering on pearlwater.in.
