A ball valve is a flow control device that uses a clean, perforated, and rotating ball to control the flow of fluid. It opens when the ball hole meets the door and closes when it is rotated 90 degrees with a valve handle, preventing flow. The handle lies on the floor facing the flow when it is open, and in the closed position, making it easy to visualize the position of the valve. 1/4 turn lock can be on either side of the clock or opposite the clock.

The basic components of Ball valves include the following:

1. Valve housing- All internal parts of a ball valve are contained within the valve housing or body. It is made of strong and stainless steel that protects the parts of the ball valve. It also allows access to an external control device that rotates the ball.

2. Ball - A ball with a hole in the middle. The hole in the middle is called a bore. The drill acts as a fluid flow opening where the cross section of the fluid flow and the drill is coplanar. If not, the flow is too tight.

3. Shaft - The shaft connects the ball to a control device that rotates the ball. The shaft has markings such as O-rings and packing rings to close the shaft and bonnet to avoid liquid leaks. The shaft can be physically used with a lever or hand wheel or used for electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuation.

4. Bonnet - A bonnet is a valve house extension that contains and protects the shaft and its packaging. It may be wrapped or tied around the body. It is also made of solid steel, and closes the hole made by connecting the shaft to the external control machine.

5. Seat - The valve seats provide sealing between the ball and its body. The seat upstream is adjacent to the inlet side of the valve. The bottom seat is located on the other side of the river upstream near the output side of the valve.

Types of Ball Valves-

Two-piece ball valve

A two-piece ball valve consists of housing divided into two pieces connected. The main piece consists of a ball and a connection to one end, and the other part holds the internal parts together and has a connection to the other end. Two-piece houses are the most common type among ball valves. These two parts can be disassembled to clean, repair, inspect but require removal of the valve in the pipe.

Three-piece ball valve

A three-section ball valve consists of a seat for the inner parts of the valve installed and held together by a bolt connector at its two ends. The ends are threaded or attached to a large pipe.

Three-component valves are used for systems that rely heavily on valves, whose maintenance functions must be performed regularly. They can be easily cleaned and serviced, and their seats and markers can be adjusted normally by removing the valve body without disturbing the two ends. Three-segment ball valves are commonly used in the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries where sanitation is essential for product safety and quality.
