A Jumbo String Wound is a depth-type cartridge filter that is made through the process of weaving yarn around a core. It has multiple layers of string wound tightly around a support core in diamond-shaped patterns that prevent the breakage of short fibers.
The yarn is woven around the core in a honeycomb-shaped such that it forms a gradient structure which allows for better filtration. The quality of a Jumbo String wound hugely depends on the type of yarn that is used to make the filter. The woven layers of string on the outer diameter filter out the bigger sediment particles those greater than or equal to the micron rating.
The Jumbo String Wound is woven to be tighter at the core and lighter on the outside. The bigger sediments get filtered out at the onset, the finer particles get gradually filtered out at every layer.
